At the Agricultural Association's dinner last night, Mr. Pharazyn stated tha f the Government had dicided upon the Underbill line, thus avoiding Givyhnvn, owing to engineering ditiiculties, and that tenders would be eaded for in a month. He further said the line was expected to be ready for plate-playing as soon as the Rimutaka tunnel was finished, and the whole to be open in 18 months. NELSON. November 23. The cutter Dido, from Wellington to West Wanganui, was wrecked at Totaranui. She lad discharged an engine at Coliingwood, and was taking another to West "Wanganui when she missed stays, and ran on the rocks. The crew were brought to Nelson by the steamer Lady Barcfay. Insurance : On hull, L 400; cargo, L7OO, in the Union Office. 0 NAPIEII. November 24. The steamer Taupo passed IT.M.S. Sappho a short distance from' Wellington Heads. The captain of the Sappho signalled :—" Future port bound to Fiji Islands, and at the beginning of the month of January to Navigator Islands."
