POOR OLD DAD
NO SUNDAY TOIL The Arm Of The Law (From "Truth's" Special Wellington Rep,.) Everybody works m our house except poor old dad. Dad, let it be said, is a carpenter, and if he wants to bang a few nails Into the place he calls home on a Sanday (which is the only day m the week he can spare the time) he has to run the- gauntlet of the law and that übiquitous chap, Stickybeak, who is always kicking around. If dad followed any other calling m the world except that of a car- . penter, he could pull the crib to pieces and send Stickybeak and the law about their business. "Remember the seventh (Sabbath) day and keep it holy," says Scripture, but the law to-day has stretched the point and allows a man to work to his heart's content provided that he is not following his calling and within view of a public place. Magistrate Page is to have a word to say on this aspect of the law m time for "Truth's" next issue.
