GOOD GALLOP

Automne Ahead of Mimetic

AVONDALE FLYING

(From "Truth's" Special Auckland

Rep.)

Royal Blood won the Avondale Flying 1 Stakes Handicap last year, and as he is sprinting as fast as ever he may win again.

He is not overburdened with 9.7, while Hoarfri is good under turfy conditions and has had the racing but is now up with the good ones.

York Abbey can begin, well, and Master Doon (a Railway Handicap winner) is m well regarding weight-for-age.

Dan Quin may improve on Wanganui form, but it is the three-year-old section that will interest most people.

Amongst these are Automne 8.7, Oration 8.3, Mimetic 8.3, Merry Damon 7;i3, King's Speech 7.11, King Lv 7.4, Hyde Park 7.2, Erne 7.0, and Queen Arch 7.0.

Oration and Automne were as two-year-olds.

The latter : impressed when he was a shade m front of Mimetic at the end of five furlongs on Saturday last at Avondale, and he looked as if he has done something during the winter.

So far he has had three starts for as many wins, and the others of his age will have to stay on if they are to break his winning sequence..

Royal Blood usually races best first up.

This "second leg" is going to prove troublesome to punters.
