GAMING-HOUSE KEEPERS
HEAVY FINES IMPOSED. Per Press Association. TIMARU. January 19. At the Magistrate’s Court, before Mr C. R. Orr-Walker, S.M., A. Huston and W. Karton were charged with keeping a common gaming liouse and with bookmaking, and C. Sloacombe was charged with assisting Karton in the running of a common gaming house. The second charge against the first two was withdrawn by the polioe. All the accused pleaded guilty, and were each fined £ICKh ■ Sloacojnbo was allowed one week in which to pay.
