CAUGHT BY STORM

BOATING PARTY ON LAKE . TWO BOYS AND A GIRL DROWNED FIVE SURVIVORS # By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received January 19, 8.50 p.m.) - SYDNEY, January 19. While a party of four boys and four girls was boating on Tuggerah Lakes it was overtaken by a southerly gale, which reached the velocity of 50 miles an hour. The boat was rapidly swamped by the waves, and the party decided to overturn the craft and cling to its bottom. This was done, but it was not long before two youths lost their grip and were drowned. One girl twice lost her hold, but was brought back. The third time she went out of sight, and was drowned. The boat eventually drifted ashore with five survivors.
