HEAVY LOSS IN QUEENSLAND TIMBER WORKS DESTROYED. Bv Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. ) BRISBANE, April 19. One of the most disastrous fires in tho history of Queensland occurred on the' Ipswich road, when the State Joinery Works and tho sawmills of Messrs Hancock and Gore were destroyed. The damage to the joinery works is estimated at £IOO,OOO, and to Hancock’s at £20,000. Flying sheets of corrugated iron caused minor injuries to 20 people. One fireman, trapped, by the flames on a bridge 25 feet from the ground, jumped, and was stunned and only slightly hurt. During the week-end a block of buildings was destroyed, the damage amounting to £IO,OOO. At Oooroy six buildings, valued at £3OOO, were burned.
