CHILDREN’S COURT. Per Press Association, AUCKLAND, April-17. Mrs N. E. Ferner, well known for her social work and as the holder of several civic positions, has been appointed associate magistrate to the Children’s Court in Auckland, and will sit with Mr E. O- Cutten, S.M. It is understood that women are to he appointed to similar positions other three centres. DUNEDIN, April 17. The first sitting was held to-day in the Children’s Court constituted under the Child Welfare Act, 1925. This abolishes the Juvenile Court. It heavily restricts the publication of details and provides for a court away from the general courthouses.
