STUDENTS’ MEETING
A pleasant little gathering of students and friends assembled at the Studio on Lambton quay, when a short musical programme was arranged by Signor Cesaroni for the termination, of the Wednesday evening classes and distribution of prizes for Studio competitions through the year. These classes, arranged by Signor Cesaroni for the benefit of his students, are a great step towards the uplifting‘of musical education in this city. The students meet every week throughout the year, Under the guidance of their teacher, to gain confidence in their 010 singing, be it for drawing-room or public platform occasions, and to'absorb all available knowledge of the great compoi ens’ works. -Through the gramophone Signor Cesaroni is desirous of acquainting more perfectly each singer’s ear with tho exquisite blending and harmonising off music through worldfamed stringed orchestras. In a short, eloquent speech Signor Oesaroni expressed his wish to put before the public a much bigger' and better programme with his students next year. One item quoted by him (“The Ruin of Athens”) (Beethoven), a most beautiful opera, will be looked forward to with keen interest. ‘ '
