PROVIDED AUCKLAND AND OTAGO - COME IN. CHANG RETURNING TO CHINA. " A special meeting of the council of the New Zealand Football Association was held last evening to consider a ccr.lo from the Australian Football Association. Mr F. Campbell presided, others present being Messrs G. M. Hayward, R. Y. Walls, W. G. Brice, H. I. Graves, G. Ince, F. Sounders. G. Shapoott, H. D. Warner, with B. L. Salmon (hon. secretary), and the secretary (Mr L O. Atkineon). THE ENGLISH TOUR. It _ waa stated trat following -the last special meeting of the council a special circular letter was sent to all associations giving details and estimated cost of the proposed tour. The treasurer reported that the bal-ance-sheet could not be completed until they had the figures from Christchurch in connection with Chang’s illness, and until the matter of the advertising contract was settled. Mr Hayward congratulated the council on the steps taken and said he was sure if the tour did not eventuate it would not be the council’s fault. It was' decided that the English tour be gone on with provided that satisfactory financial arrangements can be made with Otago and Auckland. ANOTHER TROPHY. A letter was received from Mr A. E. Gibbs, representation in London, stating that the Football Association 'had presented! handsome silver trophies to the Australian and South African Association, and were doing the same to Canada. Ho then asked, “What has New Zealand done?’ It was realised that! New Zealand was entitled to equal consideration with the other Dominion associations, and the New Zealand! Football Association wonld receive a letter from Mr Wall on the subject, leaving full arrangements in the hands of the New Zealand Football Association. Mr Gibbs suggested that the trophy we oompeted for by schools in New Zealand making it a challenge trophy never to be won outright.
