A conference of aerial syndicates has decided that all passenger-carrying aeroplanes shall, after January Ist, carry parachutes. Recently Mademoiselle Collin dropped from an aeroplane travelling at 90 miles an hour with a parachute, which unfolded normally, and enablod her to land safely.’ Parachutes are therefore regarded as a useful safeguard in case of accident.
