MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE. TRAGEDY IN CHURCH. (Sydney “Sun” Chile.) BERLIN, Deoember 16. The mother of Franz Murn, a bandsome Bavarian peasant, aged 21, implored him to improve the family’s fortunes by marrying a rich widow named Pauline Brandt, aged 63, the owner of a large form, who was infatuated with him. He reluctantly yielded, and went to the church on the wedding day. But when he saw the ugly widow hobbling up the aisle, overcome with revulsion he went mad. drew a dagger, and cat off his mother’s nceo. The bride fled.
