GOLF
THE AUCKLAND CLUB. LUSK WINS CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP. H. B Lusk, by defeating R. D. Wright at Middlemore retained the club championship for the fourth year in succession. The win was a decisive one, Lush winning by 8 up and 7. In the first round the play over the flret nine holes was a bit patchy, but both players produced brilliant golf coming home, Lusk coming back in 35, and Wright in 37. Lusk 4 up. The second round needs very little description. Lusk, playing on the very top of his game, went out in 36, making no mistake, with the exception of tho sixth hole, where he hooked his drive, and took 5 for tho hole. Wright's short game was still below Lusk's, and tho latter, at the turn, had increased his lead to 7 up. Tho tenth was halved in 4, and Lusk, with a 12ft putt, won the eleventh with a 3, to Wright's 4, and thus won the match by B—7.
