ANNUAL CONFERENCE AT WELLINGTON. important matters discussed The annual conference of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants opened at Wellington yesterday morning at the A.S.R.B. Chambers, Aitken street. It is anticipated that the conference, which is not open to the Press, will last about a fortnight. Yesterday’s business, a “Times” representative was informed by the general secretary (Mr M. J. Mack) was of a fairly formal character, and there was therefore no announcement to be made for publication. It is understood that a number of matters of considerable importance to railwaymen are to be discussed by the conference.
