ARBITRATION COURT
NO PLACE TO SIT POSTPONEMENT OF WELLINGTON SESSIONS RESULTS. SITS HERE ON MARCH 12th. The President of the Court of Arbitration, Mr Justice Frazer, said at yesterday’s brief sitting of the tribunal that, as there was no place in Wellington available for the court to sit in, the Wellington sittings would be postponed till next month, and some of the other towns would be visited in the meantime. “We have yet another new abode, as you will have noticed,” remarked Mr Justice Frazer. Explaining the latest difficulties, His Honour said the Supreme Court was at present engaged, and would be for the greater part of the month. The Magistrate’s Court was also fully occupied, and it had been decided therefore that the simplest plan was to make a fixtures sitting and proceed on to the country districts. This would mean that the Wellington sitting would be resumed in about five weeks’ time, when it was anticipated that accommodation would be available. It appeared to be a long delay, and a number of cases would become ripe for hearing in the meantime. The court had decided that any cases ready for hearing could be'added to the list, and it was hoped to clear up everything when the court sat in Wellington. Tbe court yesterday sat in the Farmers’ Union building, and it was mentioned that all the court buildings in Wellington were now engaged, and would be for some weeks. The court will open in Wellington on March 12th.
