MRS HULBERT’S DEATH
SUICIDE BY POISONING. The adjourned inquest into the death of Isobel Anne Hulbert was concluded before Mr W. G. Riddell, S.M., coroner. A report was submitted by the Government Analyst, which showed that there were indications of poison in the body. Frederick Castle gave evidence of the sale of poison Ip deceased from his chemist’s shop. Deceased eaid she required it to poison a dog. Deceased, whom he had known for some yean, appeared to be in good health and spirits. Janies B. Hulbert, deceased’s husband, said hie wife had for some yean been suffering from insomnia. He hsd advised her to refrain from taking the sleeping draught prescribed for her. Two hours later she was dead. Later witness found a note indicating deceased’s intention to take poison. The coroner found that deceased died from the effects of poison self-adminis-tered.
