LIGHTHOUSE DRAMA

A WOMAN’S VIGIL OVER FOUR DYING MEN. The Canadian cruiser Margaret, responding to signals from a lonely lighthouse in the Magdalen Islands (Gulf of St. Lawrence), sent a party of inquiry. They found the four keepers in a dying condition, and the only other person in the lighthouse a woman, completely exhausted by her efforts to nurse the sick and to keep the lamp burning. The men are believed to he suffering from ptomaine-poisoning. All were taken aboard the warship.—Reuter.
