APPOINTMENT OF REFEREE

✓ ' WELLINGTON MANAGERS’ ACTION. DISSATISFACTION AT GREYMOUTH. PB3 PRESS ASSOCIATION. GREYMOUTH, August 30. ■ The action of Mr E. Perry, manager of the Wellington touring Rugby team, in demanding the appointment of Mr A. A. Adams as referee in to-day’s match against the West Coast, has caused bitter feeling in local football circles. Mr Adams is not a member of the West Coast Referees’ Association, and is not an active referee. Tile West Coast Union protested against the action, but Mr Perry refused to allow Wellington to play if his demand was not agreed to. The Coast Union is laying the matter before the Wellington Rugby Union.
