CITY COUNCIL ELECTION
LABOUR TO CONTEST SEAT. The Wellington Labour Representation Committee, at a largely-attended meeting held in the Trades Hall last night, decided to contest the by-elec-tion to fill the vacancy in the City Council caused by the death of Councillor Underwood. The selection of a candidate is now proceeding.
