The Borough Council has been suo> cessful in raising a loan of £47,000, through a Wellington lending institution, at 6 per cent., at par, and without any flotation expenses, for a term of twenty-one years for the hydro-elec-tric power scheme. Rians and specifications have been prepared, and tenders will be called immediately. It is anticipated that the works will be completed in fourteen months. Power is to be obtained from the Wanganui river. :
