GOVERNMENT DEFEATED ON WHEAT POOL ISSUE. COUNTRY-LABOUR. COMBINATION. By Telegraph—Press' Assn.—Copyright. MELBOURNE, July 28. In the Assembly the Ministry was defeated by 33 votes to 28, tlie Country and Labour Parties voting together. The Ministry offered a voluntary wheat pool in lieu of the Country Party’s request for a compulsory one. CABINET CONSIDERING -POSITION. (Received July 28, 10.15 p.m.) MELBOURNE, July 28. After interviewing the Governor, the Premier (the Hon. H. S. W. Lawson) stated that ho had not decided whether to ask for the dissolution of tho State Parliament or merely to resign and leave it to the Governor to commission one of live leaders of the other parties to form a Ministry. Cabinet is considering the position.
