PAST QUARTER’S REVENUE INTERESTING FIGURES: STRIKING COMPARISONS. WELLINGTON TOPS THE LIST. A return, gazetted yesterday, of the postal and telegraph revenue collected in the Dominion during the quarter ended June 30tli, 1921, shows that the total postal revenue amounted to £360,159, as compared with £274,500 for the June quarter of last year; while the telegraph revenue totalled £342,260, as against £279,064 for the Juno quarter of last year, the grand totals being £702,419 and £553,420 respectively. The press telegrams showed a reduction in the number sent from 90,996 to 88,271, but an increase in the amount paid from £7275 to £9914. As a whole, the number of telegrams sent diminished from 3,709,799 to 3,111,983, while the revenue from them increased from £151,581 to £167,953. The total telegraph revenue above stated includes £173,457 in the June quarter of 1921 and £126,895 in the June quarter of 1920, for telephone exchanges, besides, minor items. THE FOUR CENTRES. For the four chief centres, the revenue received compares as under: Postal Revenue. —Auckland, £71,043; Christchurch, £44,753: Dunedin, £25,667 ; Wellington, £87,174. Telegrams. Auckland, £27,491; Christchurch, £17,109; Dunedin, £12,674; Wellington, £35,403. Telephone Exchanges. Auckland, £50,548; Christchurch, £35,334; Dunedin, £1293; Wellington, £57,064.
