THE R ACE FOR THE TURNBULL GUP.
The annual race for the Turnbull Cup will be sailed to-day. This and the Mills Cup, sailed last Saturday, are the two big events of the year in the Port Nicholson V ach t Club’s programme. The Turnbull Cup was -presented by the executors of the late Mr A. H. Turnbull. He was commodore of the club for a number of years in the ’nineties. The cup is a handsome solid silver loving cup valuelS-at fifty guineas, and may be wou outright by the same owner winning tMte race for it three years in succession or five times at intervals. Club prizes for first and second yachts ore also allocated to this race. The entries are Mnrangi, Rona, Wanderer, Viola, Atala-nta, Wairere 11, Ailsa-. Last year the cup was won by Wanderer.
