BROKEN HILL RELIEF FUND

. P COMMISSIONS OR COLLECTIONS. A statement vas> cabled from Australia the other day to the effect that men would rather take 25 per cent. commission on collecting for the Broken Hill Relief Fund than do real work. This statement, of course, is practically a declaration, that collectors for that fund are receiving the commission mentioned, and it has had a depressing effect on the response in the Dominion. Iji this connection it is authoritatively stated that this is not the caso with collections for the fund in New Zealand. "So far as New Zealand is concerned," it is stated, ' no person is receiving any commission or remuneration of any kind for collecting for that fund."
