RIFLE SHOOTING
IMPERIAL CHALLENGE SHIELD. LOCAL TEAMS’ RESULTS. For Eoao weeks past representative teams from rpost of the senior cadet companies throughout New Zealand have been firing off in connection with the annual Imperial Challer[ge ; Shield, competition, open to cadet teams in all parts ox the Empire. The shooting is now completed, and the results are being forwarded to the secretary of the National Rifle Association at Bisley Camp, Surrey. A total of 31 teams, comprising some 400 boys, were entered for the competition from the Wellington defence group. No restriction is imposed aa to the size of the teams, hut the strength is decided according to the strength of the company represented. The adverse condition of the weather while the : local teams were.firing off was not conducive to g-iod scoring, and consequently the results are .not so satisfactory as has been the case in past competitions.
