Shearer, while Gilchrist is emergency forward. ORIENTAL t. ‘HUTT JUNIORS. Last Saturday’s Rugby games between the - Hutt Juniors and Oriental at Lower Hutt Recreation Ground drew a large crowd of onlookers. Hutt Juniors defeated their opponents by six points to three after a hard-fought contest. lor Hutt Paul Sullivan scored a try, while Slater kicked a penalty, and received a great ovation from the spectator®. Armstrong' (Oriental) scored a clever try. Mr E. A. Fletcher controlled the game.
REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION
WEEKLY • MEETING. The Wellington 'Referees’ Association met last evening. Mr R. T. Bailey presided'. It was decided to ask Air D. McKenzie to bo an instruction committeeman for now referees. It was resolved that it should be a recommendation to referees that incases of ordering players iff referees should briefly state the facts and leave the matter for the Wellington Union's determination. . Messrs J. Prendeville and A. Griffith®, of tho Wellington Rugbv Union, attended tho meeting and discussed matters affecting both bodies. After (he discussion tho chairman of the Referees’ Association suggested that the union should so amend its rules as to allow a, representative of the association a seat on the union.
