LENGTHY LIST OF CASES. A rather large number of offenders came before Mr E Paga S.M • at the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning. Charged with being drunk and literjug on Clyde quay ivith illegal intent, Louisa Tierney, an old woman of C 3, was prohibited for 12 months on the first charge, and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon on the latter. For drunkenness Charles Style*, Frederick Marriott, E. Mason, and William McCarthy' were each fined XOsin default 48 hours’ imprisonment. Archbald McKanghton, for drunkenness and a breach of his prohibition order, was fined Ids in default 4S hours’ imprisonment, and ,£3 jn default seven days’ imprisonment on the latter charge. Arthur Sheriff made his fourth appearance for drunkenness, and was fined XI. and for a breach of his prohibition order was fined a similar amount, in default, three days’ imprisonment. ASSAULT ALLEGED. A man named Seddon David W. Webn was charged with assaulting Alfred E'. Mason, and was remanded until Wednesday. For drunkenness and resisting a constable a man named John May was fined £l, in default 48 hours, and on the other charge was fined Jl3, in default twentyfour hours. For resisting Constable T. Coward, William Forsyth was fined the sum of <EI, in default, forty-eight hours. Two lads pleaded guilty to a charge of assault. Each was fined ! SSL, plus expenses, in default seven days’ imprisonment. THEFT ALLEGED. Tom Cox appeared on a charge of stealing, a blanket belonging to Mary Paris. The case was. remanded for a week. Charged with the theft jpf an over. e.oat, valued at j 65. the property of .William Sheeley Atkinson, a man named Charles C. Gripps was remunded for a week, and was ordered to enter into a bond of ,£TS and one surety for a like amount. , On a charge of the theft of four magnetos, valued at .£6O, Frederick Murphy and Charles Hall were remanded until Wednesday. "MAINTENANCE. In the Magistrate's Court yesterday Mr E. Page, S.M., granted a separation to Christina Kelly from her husband John Kelly, who was ordered to pay SOs maintenance, and Mrs 'Kelly was given the custody of the children.
