GREATER WELLINGTON

UNION OF CITY AND KARORI GAZETTED. The union of the boroughs of city ot Wellington and Karori, as from April Ist next, was officially proclaimed by His Excellency the Governor-General in last night's “Gazette.” The number of councillors to be elected 'to tho City Council of the Great, er Wellington,is 15; and His Excellency has appointed Mr John Richard Palmer (tho town clerk to the existing city of Wellington) to be the town clerk temporarily, and Air James Ames (the returning officer to the said existing city) to bo the returning officer temporarily to the united borough.
