LAND TO BE SOLD
ACTION- BY CITY COUNCIL.. It was recommended to the City Council last night that a property at the corner of Ellice street and tvcnl terrace, purchased by the City Council in order to widen the street at that point, be sold by public auction. Councillor J. O. Shorland objected to the sale- of the property, and moved that tllb matter be referred back to the power station and tramways com- 1 mittee. On a division being taken, the motion. - was- --lost, and the recommendation approved.
