OLD AGE PENSIONS
PROPOSED INCREASE IN BRITAIN. Australian and N.Z. Cable Araoclatloa. (Received November 9, 5.5 p.m.) .LONDON. November 6. The House of Commons Select Committee, in addition to recommending an increase in the old age pensions, favours the abolition of the. income barrier, involving a further expenditure of ten millions. Minority reports consider that the money would be hotter spent in lowering the age limit and further increasing; pensions on raising the income barrier to correspond with the decreased value of money.
