AN IMPORTANT SALE

To-morrow, at Palmerston North, the subdivisioual sale of the “E-avenswood" stud farm, is to take place. This property is situated fronting the main Woll-ington-Linion-Palmerston traffic road, and is but six miles south of Palmerston North. The farm is a beautiful one, has been exceptionally well improved, and presents a very attractive appearance. It is all almost flat, yet has good drainage, and most of the paddocks have been pipe-drained. In ..subdividing it into seventeen sections, the owners have, as nearly as possible, kept to the paddock fence lines, so,that purchasers will have little, if any, fencing to do. The land is all down in English grass (a splendid sole), with the exception of a few patches of outs ready for green teed. Quite a feature of the property is the permanent water supply and the extensive pine a*d gum shelter plantations. The Linton creamery and factory are adjoining the farm, and the Linton railway station and township are about two' miles distant. The owners claim this land is quite up to the. famous Manawatu reputation, and that in addition to it being splendid land for dairying and fattening, purposes, it is ideal agricultural land and suitable for lucerne growing. An expert stated last week, after- examining the nature of the soil, that it was undoubtedly good lucerne land, the soil being a deep loam, of a fine, mealy nature. As evidence of the rich pasturage on "Eavenswood, 1- the owners have, for the past few years, carried 4000 grown stud and flock sheep and 250 head of cattle, including 150 dairy corns, upon the 938 acres without a great deal of cropping. Particulars-will be found in our auction columns.
