SESSIONS CONTINUED. Yesterday afternoon the "Wellington Diocesan Synod continued its sessions in the Sydney street schoolroom. The following resolutions were passed : "That this synod is of opinion than a layman should, if possible, be appointed honorary financial organiser for the Maori mission." "That this synod desires to express its thanks to the Society for the Propagation .of the Gospel for its willingness to transfer properties to the Wellington Bishopric Endowment Trust Board, and that a copy of the above resolution be forwarded to the secrevaij of the Society for the- Propagation oi the Gospel.” FINANCE. That an extra special offertory in aid of the general church fund be collected throughout the' diocese in every parish rand parochial district on the first Sunday in February, or where services are held on alternate Sundays, on- the first or second.

That notice be given to Island Bay, Brooklyn, Pahiatua. Manga tainoka, Eaetihi, Khandallah. and Pohangina that their assessments will probably be increased next year; and to Pdngaroa, Otaki, and Mangawcka that their grants in aid will probably bo reduced -and their assessments increased next year! That the vestry of Pahoutanui be informed that the synod much regrets that it should he in arrears with its assessment to the extent of .£25 for the past year, and urges’upon the vestry to make a determined effort to secure more punctual payment at the end of each quarter. ' ■' That the sum of ,£SO voted in years past for candidates for holy’orders, at the discretion of the’ Bishop, hut not claimed, he discharged from, the liabilities of the general church fund, and’ that the said sum be granted to the governors of Hadfield College , and Hostel towards paying off the overdraft at the hank, secured by them ,to meet costs of improvements and repairs of the building. EVENING' SESSION. The evening session of the Synod was taken in committee. ' Chaplain-Major McKenzie Gibson, from Trentham camp, was,, present and addressed the Synod on the work of the Anglican Church in. the camp.. It was decided "that 'full power he given by this Synod to the military affairs committee to carry on the work of the Church at Trentham and other camps”;.:also "that the following names be added to the military affairs committee:'—Messrs D. ‘H. S. Eiddiford, Q. Shirtcliffe, J. IV. Henderson, D. M. Yeats-” The session concluded with, votes of thanks to the secretaries, the press, .the residents of Wellington for their hospitality, Mr Coleridge, and the ladies who assisted in the entertainment of synodsmcn. .
