MELBOURNE, July 20. _ Under the Federal Trade Marks Biß. goods sent to Australia bearing names similar to the same class of goods manufactured locally, will be treated as prohibited imports. Geelong has been selected aa the site, for the Federal woollen mills, to be established for making cloth for thedefence, postal, and other Commonwealth employees’ uniforms. Work on the trans-Australia railway commences in a fortnight. The first sod prill be turned at Port Augusta.
