PACKING WOOL

INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE’S RECOMMENDATION. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received December 8. .10.20 p.m.) LONDON, December 8. ' The International Vegetable Fibre in Wool Committee supported tho resolution passed at tho Roubaix Conference. Tho International Congress will moot in London in May. Important tests are in progress of closely woven packs entirely paper lined. It is stated that considerable improvement is now shown in packing colonial wool, but tho chief desideratum is a perfect pack cheaper than the paper lined pack recommended by tho committee. At a conference held .at Roubaix in July last a hundred delegates, representing the wool-spinners and manufacturers of Europe, unanimously resolved that a large proportion of growers did not sufficiently realise the danger of vegetable matter entering tho wool from inferior bags. Spinners and buyers were recommended to declare, that they would buy only wools packed, -in proper bags, commencing with the season 1912-1913. It was mentioned that New South Wales was tho chief offender.
