On July 22nd Hardwick won a 200 metres race at Mlnohengliuibach, but was beaten by Sohiolo in a 400 metros event. On July 2nd Hardwick won the 100 yards totor-Emp'.ro race at the Festival of Empire sporfe. and on .1 u,no 13t.h won the 100 yards championship of England In 63 S-Ssec. The time credited to Brottfng Is remarkably fast, when it is taken into consideration that no dive was allowed.
