The chauffeur, Suess, was thrown clear of the car and washed several hundred yards down stream. Ho managed to rid himself of liis> overcoat, and scrambled ashore. Mrs Barrington’s body has boon recovered. She was a prominent worker in the Liberal cause in Victoria and Now South Wales, and was touring tho district as an organiser for the Liberal League. Mr Mackay was an cx-Mayor of Enfield, and a well-known carcase butcher. Mr Flavcy was manager for Tindalc and Company at Muswcllbrook. Suoss was a stranger to the district, and ivas unaware tliat the floods had scooped out a portion of the road, necessitating a deviation. Ho followed tho old road, and plunged through the gap into thirty feet of water.
