In reply to a question in the Federal House, Sir Wilfrid Laurier, Dominion Prime Minister, said ho was unable to state the basic principle of the reciprocaty negotiations between the United States and Canada. The Dominion had been first invited to open negotiations. Reports appearing in Canadian papers indicate a probable reduction of United States dues on unfinished lumber imports.
