MARINE MISHAPS

BAD PLIGHT OF THE STEAiMKB BOSEDALE. j By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright SYDNEY, January 13. The North Coast Steam Navigation Company's Kosedale, which is ashore in the Bellinger river, will, it is feared, become a total wreck. Wlrile being towed into the river on Wednesday a huge wave lifted the steamer on to a sand spit, where she lay hard and fast. The passengers were unable to get off, and during the night spent 'ail anxious time, as seas were crashing over the vessel. They landed soon alter daybreak. This was possible through the Rosedalo shifting close to tho breakwater. It is supposed that the captain was trying to avoid the submerged wreck of the schooner Elliston, in the middle of the fairway, and that this caused the accident. The Rosedalo had previously been stranded in the same locality, but was refloated. This time the prospects of refloating her are remote. ASHORE AT HOOK OF HOLLAND. TWENTY-NINE PERSONS STILL ON BOARD.
