TRESS ASSOCIATION. REEFTON, September 5. Alpine mine manager reports:—Crosscut in No. 7 has been extended 15ft, making total distance 531 t. Crosscut lias been going through hard country. About 60ft south of tho uprise I started four men rising on somo stone in back of level. They are up seven feet on eighteen inches of stone, in which gold can jie seen, but it is hot payable unless it widens out at the points. Two men are rising on some stone that has been very much broken. There is a ’big improvement, and it has now tho appearance of making into a solid body of stone. The end of the coming week will sea tho stone all out in tho south end. DUNEDIN, September 5. During tho week ended to-day returns have tbecn reported from fiftyfive dredges, tho total yield being 31730 z 7dwt llgr—an average of 390 z per dredge. Additional returns—Now Perseverance, 230 z sdwt 12gr; Enfield, 20oz Idwt 12gr; Taniwha, 15oz 17dwt; Sheddon’s Freehold, 41oz; Golden Gate, 13oz 14dwt; New Woodstock, 30oz; Nelson Greek, 68oz.
