TBESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, August 22. Charles Browue, aged seventeen, a seaman on the troopship Montrose, was killed by falling from tho railing of the ship. Ho hit his bead on the wharf, fracturing his skull. Deceased was a native .of East London. INGLEWOOD, August 22. Tho adjourned inquest on the death of Joseph Gledhill, county traction en-gine-driver, was held to-day. The jury returned a verdict that death was caused by tho traction engine driven by deceased breaking through tho Maketawa bridge at Junction road. A rider was added that tho County Council showed a certain amount of negligence in not posting a notice on the bridge that it was dangerous for traction-en-gine traffic as soon as the carpenter’s report to that effect was received.
