FIRES.
PRESS ASSOCIATION. BRISBANE, November 13. The New' Zealand Insurance Company is interested in tbo Emerald fire, but the amount is not stated. The Fire Brigade received a call at 12.25 this morning to extinguish a fire at 81, Riddiiord street, Newtown. A lighted candle on a dressing-table had ignited the curtains, which. together with the dre&sing-table. were damaged. The house is owned by Mr Harroway.
