CONCILIATION BOARD.
THE TAILORS’ DISPUTE. The Conciliation Board on Saturday resumed its hearing of evidence in the dispute in tho tailoring trade. The workers’ union was represented by Messrs Murdoch and Percival. No employers wore present. Tho examination of W. H. Percival was resumed. In reply to Air Flocktoa’ witness said ho could not say what lie had earned during tho nineteen weeks ho had been in his present employ. He did not think it averaged £2 7s per week. He could not earn £3 a week under tho present log. Witness' explained the custom peculiar to the trade lee - which ho had at times received more than £3 at one time, but it was not for a single week’s work-. Ho had never earnou Is an hour for tailoring. He might have done so at repairs. There were one hundred and eight members in the union, of which seventy-six wore considered highly skilled. To Air Fisher: Ho would require proof that his average earnings amounted to tho sums Mr Flocktoa had quoted. He had worked till 10 o’clock four nights in tho week and until 5 o’clock on it Saturday. Ho had worked seventy hours in one week. J. K. Oliver was rc-called, and examined by the Board. An adjournment took place at 12.30, until 10.30 o’clock this morning.
