POLO.
A game soldiers v. lawyers was played at the Wellington Polo Club’s ground on Saturday afternoon. The play showed a marked improvement, and it was evident that the. men are rapidly getting into form. Major Madooks.iCaptain Ward, Lieutenant Bncholz and Mr A. Crawford represented the soldiers, and Messrs D. G. A, Cooper, C. P. rkerrett, P. B. Baldwin and H. Cooper the lawyers. The latter team won by four goals to three. For the soldiers Buoholz and Madooks played finely, the former scoring two goals and the la ter one, while D. G. A. Cooper played a fine hack gamo for the lawyers, sooting two goals. H. Cooper, who scored one goal, hit well, while Skerrett and Baldwin did a lot of hard work, the former scoring once. In the first spell the game was in favour of the lawyers, and the second in favour of the soldiers. Taken altogether, however; it was very even. The Hon HillTrevor and Messrs C. Crawford and Morris also took part in a scratch game which was played daring the afternoon.
