Special to the New Zealand Timer. Wanganui, January 21.

Mr J. Holmes, flax expert, has returned to Wanganui after visiting Opunake, Hawera and New Plymouth, and he reports having had a successful trip. There is a large area of flax in the Taranaki district, and if a revival takes place, he expects ' that 12 to 11 mills would be profitably employed. Mr Holmes speaks in the highest terms of the manner in which ho was received, especially by the press, and a generous support was accorded to the movement by flaxmillers, traders and settlers.
