YACHTING.

There was a fresh northerly breeze on Saturday afternoon for the third events of the races for the first and second-class yachts of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club. In tho First-class Race the Waitangi, scr, was defeated by tho Marltana, lOmin. The Waitangi led throughout, but she was beaten on time allowance by Imin 40aec. The aggregate prize was won by the Marltana with 10 points, the Waitangi being second with S points. In the Second-class Race tho starters were s—Bona, scr; Mapn, 6min ; Waiwetu, 17min; and Jennie Beidl, 20inin. Tho Mahina and Atalanta wore unable to start. The Mapu got away'first, but was soon overhauled by the Bona, and a capital race ensued between these two. The boats finished as follow; —Bona, 4hr 57min 18aeo ; Mapu, shr 2min 23aec ; Waiwetu, shr 12min 30sec ; Jennie Beid, shr 19min 17eeo. On her time allowance the Waiwetu won, the Mapu being second and the Bona third. The result of this race made the Waiwetu and Mapu equal in points for tho aggregate prize with 8 points 'each, the Bona coming next with 3. points, and the Mabiaa fourth with 2 points,. Another race will have to be held to decide the question of supremacy. .The duties/ of starter and timekeeper wore carried out by Messrs J. B- Speed and J. E. Mr F, L. Biss acted as handicapper, /
