ACCIDENTS.

♦ (per press association.) Christchurch, April 20. On Saturday afternoon, as some lads were boating on the Waimakariri, at Kaiapoi, the boat was swamped. One lad,, the third son of Mr R. J. Alexander, head master of the Kaiapoi School, was drowned,, Mr W. P. Reeves, M. H.R , met with an accident at football on Saturday afternoon. He was goal-keeping in the Association match at Hagley Park. Messrs A. E, Moss and Hutton were racing after the ball. Hutton collided with Reeves, striking him full in the face with his head. Reeves received-bad bruises, cuts on the face, and a slight concussion of the brain, which rendered him insensible. Dr Heßenzie was fetched and,had him taken to the hospital. He recovered consciousness last night and is out of danger, and is expected to be about shortly.
