THE CITY ELECTIONS.
The elections to supply the vacancies in the three Wards of the City took place yesterday. There was but little excitement ; and the contest was keen, for a time only, in Te Aro Ward. A few cabs, marked with the names of the candidates in whose interests they fan, drove through the streets in the course of the day, and that was about all the outward and visible evidence there was of a municipal contest. Soon after four o’clock the results of the polling were ascertained to be as under. It will be observed that in Lambton and Thorndon Wards the retiring Councillors have been re-elected, and that in Te Aro Ward Mr. J. R. George has succeeded Councillor ICrulk The results were announced as follows ; TE AHO WAKD. Mr. J. R. George 390 Mr. C. Moody 282 Majority for Mr. George ... 10S LAMBTON WAKD. Mr. E. W.
