DISTRIBUTION CUP ..'-BRIZES..

The annual entertainment and distribution of prizes to the pupils attending the Convent High School took place in the infant schoolroom, Guildford terrace, bn Dec. 12. The room was thronged with'the parents and friends of the pupils. The entertainment provided reflected "the highest credit on the performers and those who were responsible for their tuition. Miss D. Brady played the accompaniments and Mr Baldwin managed the limelight. The following was the : Buet, “ Italy,” Misses Sullivan, Tracy, Brady and Gallagher; violin solo, Raff’s “ Cavatina,” Miss Achison; the Molto allegro e . con brio movement from Beethoven’s “ Sonata Path etique,” Miss Brady; song, “ Birds ,of Balmy Woodland,” .Miss Long; duet, “Romance,” Misses Falconer and Long ; cantata, “ The Rose of Savoy;” rondo (arranged for two pianos),' first piano Miss Sullivan, second piano Miss Brady; soli and chorus, “ Oh Sing to God,” Misses A. XMaginnity and Gibbs; minue dance, Miss Ringwood’s pupils; piano solo, coro /E “Serena I vaghi rai,” cavatina “ Bel raggio,” Miss. Solomon; Spanish dances (for two pianos), Misses Sutton, Allardice,- Sullivan and Brady. The characters in “TW Rose of Savoy ” were taken by Misses N. Gallagher, Brady, Maginnity, E. Maginnity, Sullivan, P. Grace, Fanning, M. Blake, R. Moeller, Long,' M. Brady, N. Achison, R. Allardice and R. Fabian.

The prizes won during the past year were distributed by the Vicar-General ( v Very Rev Father; Devoy), in the unavoidable absence of- Archbishop Redwood, as follow :
