FATAL LANDSLIP.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) _ Westport, April 19. An accident occurred on the Buller-road, 13 miles from Westport, this morning, at a place where men are working making the road. A slip of thousands of tons came down, burying one man and breaking both the legs of another. It took two hours to rescue the latter, and the former is still buried, A doctor has just left for the scene. Westport, April 20. Thomas Lahy ia the name of the man who was killed by the slip on the Buller-road yesterday, and Patrick Dunn is the injured man. They were working with the object of bringing down the 30ft face, when it slipped without warning, entirely covering Lahy and just catching Dunn. Lahy’s body was cut up into small pieces. He leaves a wife and eight children in Dunedin. Dunn is progressing favorably in the Hospital. JjATER# Dunn died in the hospital from the effect of the Buller-road accident.
