DESTROYING TELEGRAPH INSULATORS.

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Napier, December 11. The destruction of insulators by boys throwing stones at them has been very rife of late in this district. The other day some lads were charged with this offence at Danevirke, and were let off on their parents undertaking to chastise them, but it is believed that this offence is not confined to boys but that men make the insulators targets for rifle-practice. Seeing the inconvenience to the public service which might result through telegraphic communication being interrupted, to say nothing of the expense of repairs, it iB intended to make an example of the first larrikin of mature years to whom the offence can be traced home.
