TWO REGATTAS HELD

TAMAKI CLUB'S EVENTS The south-west breeze gave good sailing conditions to the Tamaki Yacht Club for its annual resratta in which SO boats competed. Racing was keen, and on corrected times several of the classes had seconds only separating the first boat from the last. The M class Mararoa capsized, while in the Y class Demon had trouble with her gear and lost her mast. Moerangi won the M class championship cup presented by Lieutenant E W. JHarrop, as well as the handicap. The Charles Urquhart Memorial Cup, presented by Mr. VV. P. Endean, M.P., as the championship cup in the Z class, was won by Tawaki, while Sir Reginald Moseley's cup for the Frostbite class, in which there were *-'8 starters, was won by Demon. The regatta was continued yesterday, when the commodores of the various clubs raced in Frostbite class boats, and lady members, committeemen and boys competed. In the championship of the upper harbour for X class boats, Caress won comfortably. There wrre 22 starters m the Z class, and at the finish seconds only separated the whole fleet on corrected times. The result was: Cupid, 1; Janette, 2; Revel. 3. Tipi Tin and The Macs capsized, and Rebel lost her extras.
